Double Take

People are always asking, "Who does Natalie/Lincoln look like?" Well, here we all are at about the same age (9 months), except Ben (5 months and 1 year). Unfortunately, I don't have one of Ben, which would make this much more fun. Judge for yourself. Lincoln had his 9 month check-up on Friday and I was comparing stats with Natalie's 9 month check. It's too bad I don't have my statistics or Ben's. It is pretty interesting. Natalie: weight-14 pounds 8 ounces (3%), length-27 inches (25%), head-44 centimeters (50%) wearing mostly 3-6 month size clothes versus Lincoln: weight-18 pounds 3 ounces (25-50%), length-28 inches (25-50%), head-45 centimeters (25-50%) wearing between 6-12 month size clothes.

Tyrone

So I was asked why my blog was being published by Tyrone and I thought I'd share what that's all about even though the publishers' names have since been changed. When I first met Ben in 2000 he went by his nickname Tyrone. We do have a few friends from college that still call him this and a few who never knew him as Tyrone but heard he went by it once upon a time and will on occasion call him that as a joke. I am not a fan of Tyrone, I prefer Ben. Even when he introduced himself to everyone we interned with he said, "My name is Ben, but people call me Tyrone," I just had to cringe. I thought why would you prefer that over Ben? (I do have to admit that I did call him Tyrone until we started dating and then it quickly became Ben.) Anyway, I came to find out that when he was in high school in Detroit he went out to BYU to visit an older brother and he was dared to pick up on some girls or something and didn't want to use his real name and came up with Tyrone and it had some inside joke like "Tyrone shoe laces," get it? Anyway the name stuck and being from Detroit and being a minority he felt like he fit in better or sounded as tough as he really was or something with the name Tyrone Taylor. So why was Tyrone publishing our blog? He started the blog just messing around a couple years ago and registered with that name as he does lots of things so his real name doesn't get sold. I just didn't change the name until today. Anyway here are a few pictures of Tyrone in his nickname days.

Sunday Naps

The great thing about having church early on Sunday, besides not having cranky kids in church, is taking a nap after church. We had a Regional Stake Conference, which was amazing, this past week so church was from 10 am-12 pm instead of our normal schedule this year of 1-4 pm.
While I was sleeping with Natalie on her bed, Ben was sleeping with Lincoln on the couch. I just couldn't help take a few shots of my handsome sleeping guys when I got up and saw them!

Ben even managed to move Lincoln up to his chest after a while and they both slept on. This is my favorite picture.

Valentine Soap

On the Monday before Valentine's Day Natalie and I made some "Valentine" Soap. We melted the glycerin, scented it light rose, and colored it pink. We made small solid pink hearts and put some inside the clear pink soap. Natalie was a big helper by putting the glycerin squares in the glass measuring cup, pushing all the buttons on the microwave, and stirring everything in. She loved the whole process and was excited to give some to her friends. She wanted to carry the bag with all the soap in it for several days.

Cute Kids & Pretty Rugs

Our handsome "little man", Lincoln, doing what appears to be a yoga move-- downward facing dog to a lunge. After feeling me do it all through my pregnancy and watching me do it every week since he was born almost 9 months ago he looks pretty confident in his abilities (JK). Now that he is crawling and pulling himself up he can be seen doing all sorts of things and it's fun to watch and catch on camera. Also notice our first new rug which is in the family room on hardwood. Makes it much more enjoyable for the family, mostly our feet, since the majority of our time is spent in that room.

Here's our cutie, Natalie, and of course she's reading a book (her favorite thing to do). If you look closely you'll see our 2nd new rug in the living room. It sure makes the hardwood floors warmer and softer to play on and the room echos less. Not to mention the splash of color makes the room feel more homey.
